About Good Samaritan Ministries, Inc: Church Services, Thrift Store, Food Pantry, Faith-based Recovery, Christian Education, Request a Speaker, and more.
Good Samaritan Ministries was established by Pastor Vito Bitetto, who was inspired by the Lord Jesus Christ during his visits to the Port Saint Lucie Correctional Facility. He felt compelled to address the issue of released inmates lacking a place to go, and recognized the need for a safe and Christian environment where men could continue their spiritual growth in society.
In 2011, a thrift store was established to assist in meeting the growing expenses associated with housing, feeding, and fulfilling the necessities of those under the care of Good Samaritan Ministries.
In January of 2012, a home was obtained in Port Saint Lucie, Florida to function as a restoration house with a Christ-centered approach, following prayerful consideration and guidance. As the demand for additional housing increased, another property was rented in July of the same year. Shortly thereafter, the second house reached its maximum occupancy.

About Us
During this time, the Lord was strongly impressing upon Pastor Vito to give up his highly successful business which helped support the ministry and enter, by faith, into full-time ministry by establishing more houses of refuge for His children, trusting that He would provide the means to do so.
Our Approach
Despite very challenging circumstances and financial burdens, the vital need for establishing a similar refuge and safe haven for women and children became apparent. As this need was being diligently prayed about at the weekly Bible Study held in his home, the plight of a young lady and her child having no home came upon Pastor Vito and the fellowship. Not finding any other alternative, Pastor Vito and his wife Charlene opened their own home to this young lady and her child for a period of nine months. The young lady’s gradual transformation towards a faith-filled, Christ-centered lifestyle was very encouraging. Despite reservations of taking on women and children, the constant and continual requests for safe housing for women and children compelled us to open our first women’s home in May of 2013.
The need for safe housing in our community which serves to restore broken lives and families is great. We now have nine homes for men, and nine homes for women and children. Pastor Vito has always been constrained by the love of Christ to never turn anyone away who wanted and needed help. Oftentimes the resources have been very limited. We have often been pressed beyond measure to meet the financial resources and labor required to keep the ministry running. By selling items in our Thrift Store and on-line on eBay, through funds generated by our Lawn Care Services, Moving Services, Residential and Commercial Cleaning Services, Tree Company, Mechanic Shop, and General Contracting, we have managed to provide our services now for over 8 years.
Despite great trials and trying circumstances, by the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, we have been steadily moving along in His service, learning to be sustained by His vital, wondrous presence.
The Vision
Pastor Vito Bitetto wholeheartedly embraced the teachings of Jesus in the parable of the Good Samaritan (Luke 10:30-37), where he cared for and provided for the injured man. This parable became the foundation for Good Samaritan Ministries, with its mission statement rooted entirely in Scripture. Despite having a formal mission statement and being recognized as a Non-Profit 501C3 Corporation, the true purpose and direction of this organization are solely derived from God’s Holy Scriptures. As Jesus said, Go, and do likewise. Similarly, the powerful message of Jesus in Matthew 25:31-40 also guides all the endeavors undertaken by this ministry.
Although we find great joy in worshiping Him and experiencing His presence during our evening Church gatherings, our true purpose and duty lie in offering solace and healing to those who are emotionally shattered. We have complete faith in the Lord’s power within us to instill hope in those who rely on our support. Witnessing the profound changes in people’s lives and witnessing families being reunited fills us with immense happiness. We have formed a tight-knit community, grateful that the Lord has brought us together with love. The abundance of His grace is something we deeply appreciate and always keep in mind.
Praise be to God !
Food Pantry
OPEN WEEKLY TO THE PUBLIC EVERY THURSDAY 1PM-6PM
Good Samaritan Ministries has developed an outreach ministry in the form of distribution of food baskets to local needy families. Through the co-operative efforts of Treasure Coast Food Bank and other local businesses, Good Samaritan Ministries provides from 150 to 200 food baskets each week to the less fortunate and needy. This program provides a vital community need and has been ongoing for the past two and half years.
Food Baskets are always freely provided to those in need. In most cases, these are temporary situations where a “helping hand” is given during a time of crisis. Particularly, children of single parent homes suffer for a lack of complete and balanced meals.
